Update: Bailout dead. Failed in the Senate 52 - 35. The Dims needed 60 votes. The UAW wouldn't make concessions so the wingers wouldn't get on board.
This whole bailout thing is payback for union support of Dims for decades. The big three have short term hope...chapter 11. This will allow the possible (unlikely) rewrite of union contracts, replace the company management team, and protect shareholders.
There is no long-term hope unless they can dump the UAW.
